oh btw i'm literally a green-eyed monster now! haha.....thanx to my new green colorblends...... i love my eyes and i love my green lenses....... having worn my grey colorblends for the past two yrs, been yearning for a change.....and its gonna be green! i've tried the green ones more than 2 yrs back and i loved them, but they were monthly ones and i had these grey permanent lenses then which i wore till lately.... so when its time to get new pairs, green is the first in mind....... and i oso got pure hazel.....kinda like yellowish brown..... gonna try them soon!

i love this pic..... *note: what u see is not what u get, the actual pic is nicer....heehee, i say so!!!!..... the stoopid scanner din work, so i gotta picture it (thus the flash at one corner).....heehee..... took this pic for my visa appli...... and i kinda like it alot, in fact, got the person at the shop to develop more (in size of passport while that of the visa one is 2" x 2")...haha, so i can use it for some impromptu job appli next time, since i haven got my professional photo taken....

when i went for the visa interview, the visa officer looked at my photo and was like: wow, u look very happy in the picture huh, not many ppl look so happy in their visa photo, were u like "yeah, i'm going to get visa/going the us...." (yesh, he said so, crappy visa officer....)

and it ought to look nice k.....i paid $8 for 2 visa size photo, my frens paid like $4 for 8... felt like kenna chopped.... but the consoling thing is that the photo quality and the color of mine is much better.......keke...... its ok to pay more to look nice ya know.......

juz woke up from a 4 hour nap.... u wun know how tired i am..... had my gms prez today and it was almost DISASTROUS..... i was supposed to meet my group mates at 8am in the class to prep for the prez at 9am and guess what? i woke up only at 820 something... and that's when kirby called me.......

i rushed like mad.... changing straight, slap some wax on my hair and rush out w/o even washing up...i must have looked horiible.....heng, got a cab w/o much prob.... then on my way there, i thought i would be able to reach there in time, so decided to send him a msg to tell him i dun need a replacement, and half way through the typing.... i found the cab stuck in a morning rush hour jam....... oh my god, luckily i haven sent the msg and decided not to send liao.... fortunately, the jam is only for a stretch on the highway..... the rest of the journey was smooth-sailing.....

when i reached the seminar room, i was greeted by another surprise, everyone else is wearing formal...skirt and blouse, and i was in jeans and shirt......wah lao.... suay..... i was damn out.... it happened that the others decided on a dresscode yesterday and forgot to tell me, and i also assumed that they'll not be wearing formal, since its not needed..... aiyah, heng they never like blame me for spoiling the prez or what (or so i hope...) and given the high calibre of my group members (heehee) the prez went well , esp the Q&A.....

what a day to remember..... esp for kirb i think...... i heard he nearly beng1 kui4 ...hahahah..... if not for his call, i prob wun even have waken up till 11..... but hey, i used two alarm clock leh, they din work....guess i was juz too tired liao..... and oso heng got kaixin, who worked through the nite to come out with nice powerpoint slides....


now that gms is done, another good news is that my fyp has been submitted.... really feel guilty for not having to contribute much during these few days due to some other commitment.... and left shuzhen and des to do alot of the job, especially sz..... feels like i'm owing her something or what..... THANX for all that u've done dear!!! i got some goodies for ya at the foodfair!!!!

oh and my visa to the usa is finally confirmed..... went for the interview @ the us embassy last week and i had thought that it was some kind of sit down interview in a room....it turned out to be over the counter kind of thing.....the visa officer are like bank tellers sitting behind the counter, asking questions on the purpose of visiting the country, why choose to go that place, where i study blah blah blah..... my interviewer is this ang moh guy whom i thought is a l'il cute, but not those drop-dead gorgeous kind lah.... i was panicking before the interview as the lady at speedwing told me 2 s'poreans din manage to get their visa....but felt relieve when he said : well, i'm going to approve your visa....) yeay!!!!

the us embassy had tight security...... well, not surprising given the terror scares.... gotta go through detectors twice (hey, at the s'pore custom we only do that once...)

even so, i still dun have the time to plan my trip.... will have to settle my interactive stuff first.....hope to meet some zhi tong dao he friends at the orientation.....

You've been warned! Do not buy Epson printers if u dun like retarded printers. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY AN EPSON AGAIN! (oh i din buy this, so corrections:) I WILL TELL MY SIS NOT TO BUY EPSON PRINTERS AGAIN!

It has disappointed me again and again. if i have spare cash, i will sure buy a canon, my good old canon printer. the printer is cheaper, the ink is cheaper oso, the printer is trusty, with user- friendly operations and functions........

aiyoh sian ah......... i think i shud go chk what the symptoms of dengue fever are..... i have mysterious redspots on many parts of my body....and they're itchy..... i oso suspect the redspots could be caused by this clinique body lift lotion that was bot abt 1 yr back.......ah....itchy itchy, scratchy scratchy, up and down my backy wacky........ and maybe its due to the lotsa things to be done, i'm like worn out oso.....


btw received a surprise sms from herlin, my ex-colleague from borders.....haven seen her for more than 2 yrs and she msged me to tell me that there's this Lee Hom activity held by i-weekly and that can use the magazine to gain admission to the event. Man was i so happy! firstly, she actually remember that i likeD lee hom alot....and specially msged me abt the event....... we haven kept in touch for so long liao and not like very close oso and yet she remember........ great friend!



been leading a no-life life recently, not that other times are damn ermmmm...... Squirrels are very cute creatures, dun you think so? Rodent like head with thick fluffy tail and big doe-eyes…… well, I’m saying this as I’m watching this docu on squirrels on central…..


I remember last time when I was in primary 1, we were made to open a savings account with POSB…It was compulsory I think, to encourage the virtue of saving money from young…… the mascot then was a squirrel…..haha……what good memory I have…… that’s probably the first time I ever knew what the animal is like and develop this liking for it…..

anyway, I’ve seen a wild squirrel before, right before me……. I was walking back to my hostel room after school one afternoon and I saw one at the sheltered linkway between blk 72 and 71…….. so cute…..i had this urge to catch it….haha….. well….. I did not though, I had wanted to whip out my phone to take a pic of it, but before I could do so, it had run back into the forest…..

oh yah, if u dunno, my blk is next to this forest, so I get to see interesting animals and insects that I probably have to go the some insect museum or what…… like the 2-inch big hairy black tarantula-like spider in the girls toilet, this black beetle insect with a pincer on its head which was found in gi’s room, giant moths, green beetle with shiny, metallic covering, rhinoceros beetle etc etc etc……

Been spending these few days doing these:

1. Project discussions (countless and endless projects, even though i only have 3 modules this sems! why why tell me why!!!)


2. FYP, deadlines near, better buck up and not disappoint my group mates....


3. writing resume and sending them.... finally got my ass on the chair the wrote a simple resume...... did some very very last minute application for a P&G job, and gonna send Maersk one as well..... quite lucky, i did not manage to write a resume and send the shipping giant the last time (by 2nd), but glad it actually send me an email, asking me to try sending it one by the 6th....heehee..... given another chance!


4. Personal assignment, lots and lots, reflections journal (for my cross cultural module), e-commerce assignment (personal and group). haha, for my previous reflections journal, though having interacted with many many ppl from diff nationalities and culture, i couldn't exactly pinpoint one that i have deep impression of (the frenchmen who stayed in my hall, yoshi and shimpei from japan who went to AJC for an exchange, alex from UK, the cute german guy in my group, my relatives' filipino maids(?), ah tiongs whom i had a not-so-pleasant steamboat dinner with, the flamboyant italians i met at the italian festival and many many many more........) thus i found it hard to write one that is out from my personal experience.........and so what did i do? hahaha.....cook up a story lor...... and i got A+ for that assignment ok........

its a story abt ku chye kueh (yesh, the teochew glutinous rice cake with smelly chives veggie inside) and a german exchange student call marc. why marc? well i have a friend from aj who's half-german half singaporean, his name is marc, juz take this chance to commemorate the funny guy who's now studying in london...... and i linked this fictitious story to real-life application of cutltural knowledge and sense making......... SMART!


5. Prez and quiz yesterday.......


aiyoh, busy lah..... btw i mentioned abt asking for a pay hike rite? and i got the ans....... hmmmmm, my sup explained the pay structure to me in detail, and guess what? my pay is actually abt $6.80 per hour, the 80 cents goes to my CPF and the best thing is that i do not have to contribute my share as my pay doesn't reach $500 per month........i din know that the employer contri to my cpf in the first place.......ok, misunderstanding cleared. and i'm gonna work in a french fair (trade or consumer i dunno) in mid march, hmmmmmm.... sounds interesting..... had fun in an italian fair last yr while working in unilever, marketing the "italy's number 1 olive oil brand" Bertolli ......heehee......

(bloody hell, have this problem scanning a pic using my sis epson stylus 3-in-1 printer........ screw epson! its the worst and most un-intelligent printer i've used so far, even worse than the always-break-down HP printers (had 2 or 3 HP printers before, all down within a year or two, juz as terrible as its pc and laptop which hang very often and my first printer, scanner and pc are from hp, what a letdown...), and the Lexmark which suddenly broke down, giving wierd loud noises) and this lousy epson comes with a manual that is as useless, limited info in a piece a paper....... not that i love reading manuals, juz that i have no choice but to read it to figure out how to make it work....... argh...irritating.....

I can't believe i do the thing i did! I requested for a pay hike from my immediate superior over the phone! wow, so brave, so courageous, i actually dare to do so. Well, this problem has been ard for some time liao. Everyone else get more pay than me..... they work 6 hr 40 min get $50, some gets $70, i work 9 hr get $54... what the fuck! i'm experienced oso k.....i've been doing it since sec sch liao, and by far, this is one of the least paid job/hr i've landed for myself. finally got a chance to raise it to her juz now, well, doubt anything would be changed, and might even infuriate my sup (maybe she's thinking: this gal, think she undergrad so what, lidat means she can command all the best pay in all jobs meh?, so troublesome, dun use her next time.....)


hmmmmm, actually i'm fine with the longer hours, 2 hrs only mah, i wun be doing much things in that 2 hrs anyway, i'm just bu4 gan1 yuan4 only......i told my mum and she's on my side..... aiyah, if it turns out real bad i've nothing much to lose, i can afford not to earn that measley few hundred dollars even though i do need money for my travel fare...... at least now i have mama on my side, she'll understand if i start asking her for money......... plus with this job, my wkends are burnt, i haven been able to go out with frens and my family for the 5 wkends liao....

Nwayz, went chenji's house yest. oh god was it damn damn damn beautiful. Its probably the most beautiful house i've ever seen, and i dead serious abt it...... the design is contemporary, very modern, very "designer's" with nice landscaping. It costs abt a million to tear down the old house, build, renovate and to furnish the house. a million..... that's like 2 neighbourhood condos or prob a penthouse somewhere...... forgot to bring my camera, otherwise i sure would have taken photos..... each room has a toilet and even the guestroom is so godamn nice, with wooden veranda on two sides, his mum has a walk-in wardrobe and openair bathtub in a hotel-like bathroom that's bigger than by bedroom? hmmmm......its an inspiration man......and did i mention his house no is 33? my other fave no besides 6 and 16? lucky him!


had a great time at his place, karaoke-ing, dancing to the catchy tunes of elva and FIR's songs........ turnout was good yest, near 20 of them were there. Them refers to my uni yr 1 sem 1 classmates..... not bad huh, we're still hanging out together even after more than 2 yrs......


but when's the next gathering? after we've graduated, i guess we'll still meet up....but how many will turn up? hmmmmm, i hope as many, hope everyone find the job they want and so we can see happy faces the next time we meet up.....

Lazy moi!

hmmm....... wed, time for some kickboxing......but its one week break, i'm not in sch, there seems to be insufficient reason for me to go all the way back to boon lay to attend the session. you see, my journey to and fro takes 2 hr plus and it'll cost me ard $5 for some thing i've paid 9.90 for 3 mths......after weighing the cost and benefits, hmmmm, like not very cost efficient to go back for pretty tuff. OK, fine, i'm not going......


to lessen the guilt i feel inside for not having to burn those fats that ought to be burnt, i decided to go swimming in replace of kickboxing. Well, the swimming complex is juz like 15-20 mins walk away from home and entrance is $1 only. did 22 laps, ok lah, not bad liao...... i remember in sec one, i used to have this science cum PE teacher call mr francis foo or something lidat, he said that swimming 11 laps non-stop would means losing 1kg....... i swam twice that no, ok, not continuous lah, but with occasional few seconds of break, then i shud have lost maybe 1 kg plus mah, but it doesn't seem to be the case leh....... ok, maybe i juz have low metabolism rate.....fine!


finally have got my Interactive marketing indivi assignment topic settled. its on 3G mobile services as marketing channels..... hmmm 3G is a hot topic right now huh...... gotta get some "trendy" or "in" topics for projects, not like doing "sms as means of marketing channels"....off! cannot anyhow play play as well, this damn proj is worth 35% of overall grades....... better do a good job....


and as for FYP, can say that we're 65-70% done. actually the rough draft liao, but feel that the impt parts needs lotsa brushing up....... hmmmm, am now looking forward to the final submission of fyp, afterwhich i can start planning for my graduation trip liao!!!!


yeah!!!! and oh, was chatting with yixiong, he'd applied to go to the illinois, US for an exchange, hope the appli is successful then can probably meet him up there.......



got several errands to run tml, gotta go hdb office help my dad pay for his carpark thingy, go golden landmark to take photos for my visa application (damn troublesome, passport size photo cannot be used, muz specially take those 2" by 2" ones.... &^%&#$&(@!%& .....), go novena area to submit these forms for the application then go chenji's house in kembangan for his housewarming......... oh yah, not forgetting, i still have my cross cultural thingy to do.....argh!!!!

Great Thanx to Mediacorp!

I can't help but to feel like saluting to Mediacorp for the fact that it now arranged lousy tv programmes and withdraw all the nice taiwanese varieties in channel u and slotted in ever-so-boring ancient-setting epic drama and cannot make-it taiwanese drama at nite.....

so why salute? thanx dear, i've now lost interest in nite time programmes in BOTH ch 8 and U (yep, no longer yearning and longing and waiting by the tv for guess guess guess and many others), and this forces me to turn to the internet and sch work/research. My mum muz be happy! lesser excuses and causes for late nites. But sorry pa, electricity for the laptop and modem shall contimue to run.....


What abt all those promises made by the ceo or whoever like 1 mth back, regarding how mediacorp, even now that its da monopoly in the tv industry, will never compromise on the creativity of the programme contents and how it'll work hard on it?


Sometimes i do think if mediacorp is out to ruin ch U or probably the trust that it has built with Singaporeans (over many years of media monopoly). Well,i dun subscribe to scv, since most of the time, no one's at home to watch tv (so as to make every cent paid worthwhile). It seems like there are now lesser new prog launched in ch u and macham the new and best ones are all saved for ch 8...... ( any examples that opposes this view? pls convince me...) and can you believe the news with the same content (plus similar or almost similar footage, except for different newsreader..... and yah, with less experienced greenhorn newbies to read them in ch u) is telecast for 4 times within a short span of 4 hours? and give us more reasons that its to cater to the needs of working viewers.


I quote someone who told me this: maybe mediacorp is gonna ruin ch U so that eventually, the low ratings/viewership can pose as a reason to shut that channel u down (for whatever reasons) in the future....


its no surprise that many others are now subscribed to cable tv, i know why...... for my family, we've nvr had that idea before, never. but now, it seems like we've gotta consider again....

CNY!

Its the ninth day of Chinese New Year...... so how's ur new year?

Mine's been quite busy...... not exactly busy with all the visiting though, but things like schwork, work and stuff.... din quite get a chance to enjoy the new year..... hmmmmm......but i told myse;fnevermind, next year's CNY will be real different. It'll mark the first year i'm starting work, no more schwork, fyp! (scar-ly my work requires me to work on public holis?) and i'll start giving my parents and grandparents angpows....

For the first 9 days of the cny plus the eve, i've had 4 lo-hei, excluding 3 consecutive days which i've been eating yusheng which my family had "lo" (and i wasn't ard...) somehow my family current hobby seems to be to lo-lei......

yesterday, went for a cny reunion dinner with my uni class mates. Its like a tradition for us to meet up for a cny feast every year since year 1. So this is the 3rd time together. Hope this continues even after we graduate liao....... we had steamed seabass, sweet and sour pork, deep-fried prawns with cereal, deep-fried seafood beancurd, fried prawn wrap, kangkong, fried chicken with prawn paste, fu-rong egg and yusheng! What's missing this year is chilli crab, which we did not order to keep the cost down.... remember the first yr we got together? the bill was like $600 for 15 ppl, which worked out to be $40 per pax. We were shocked! yesterday's bill was $257 for 11 or 12 of us..... so its 21.50 each, still abit on a high side for us, but its ok lah, final year, once a year......



btw last week, eric treated me to dinner at cafe cartel. Its my oh-so-belated bday prez..... thanx huh.... oso got to see his gf of two years, liyan, whom he used to tok so much abt, but we've nvr met.......i ordered yummy yum yum st louis pork ribs. Man, in view of its popularity, cartel jacked up the price from $11 plus to $14 plus in within a span of less than 2 yrs... but bo bian, can't boycott, its juz too delicious to miss....

I tot is tml (1st day of cny) but then heng ah i was wrong, i was worrying that the s'pore pools bet centre near my place would be closed for cny..... now i have one more week plus to buy.....

i intend to buy 10 quick picks....heeeheee...... every time read those chinese tabloid newspapers XX Ri Bao and Lian He XX, those toto winners all like buy $0.50 quick pick and "unexpectedly" strike lottery. I shall go buy 10 (too bad, think now no more $0.50 ones liao), then keep telling myself "no lah, wun win one, play play only mah" haha, then maybe might juz "unexpectedly" strike this big hongbao....hahaha..... call me a lan du gui, i dun care, wait till i really strike, dun come and sa kar me k. anyway once a yr only, juz take it easy and play play lor......

Confessions of a young promoter

My past 2 days have seen me seeing this french guy again.......the guy whom i met @ carrefour on x'mas day.......he came to ask for a cookie from me again......*blush*

anyway, from my now-so-often wkend stint doing some promoter job (ala e auntie style), i've kinda gathered some thoughts on the job and have decided to compile this - the confessions of a promoter. Now, u will now know what goes through inside a promoter's (those supermarket promoter lah) mind when you sample her food.

The scenarios:

1. You sample the food, chew for 5 sec and paused, probably trying to see how ur sharp tastebud is, as it tries to taste out all the ingredient in the cookies and their proportion.

Miss P: what the hell....... you seriously wun understand how damn irritating that is lor....esp when you dun wear any expression at all....... and give miss P a feeling that for that few sec you're in ur own world..... the worst has yet to come....


2. you tasted the food, swallowed, then suddenly give this slight shivering look/movement after 2 sec........

Miss P: Spastic, are you trying to tell me u're SLOW? why do u only shiver so long after u've tasted the food (and even swallowed it?). Is there something wrong with your sensory nerves, motor receptors or whatever u call it? That's so bloodby unnatural..... u dun like juz tell miss P that u dun like it lah, y give that kind of fucked up reaction? PLUS..... u're not eating some sour stuff leh (well, am i right to say that this kinda reaction is is normally triggered by i) cold ii) sour food?).....they're juz some over-buttery cookies my dear.......


3. You "gian peng"-ly wanna eat the food sample on the table juz coz i) u're simply a glutton ii) u wanna scrimp on ur lunch iii) u see expensive food like nougats free for sampling, and u juz can't miss it...... then u gei gei walk near the booth, wait for miss P to ask ya to try the food. and miss P dutifully do so. U eat, take more than u should, walk off rudely as Miss P tries to explain to ya what's in the food blah blah blah..... then u turn to a corner of the store and suddenly appear from the other corner minutes later, juz to "walk past" the booth again...... gianz...... ppl like this comes in all ages....seriously..... including some greedy kids whose parents apparently din teach them the confucian/asian virtue of having a sense of shame


Miss P: wah lao, u all come and quickly finish up my sample...... then i have to cut again and again...... and all the cutting is causing calluses and blisters on my hand liao lah......oh my god .... no no....kids, jie jie may appear to say nvm, take lor, but inside, she hope ur mama or papa are around and they're embarassed by what u're doing.....aiyoyo.....oh yah, maybe aiyoyo teacher should make a comeback and teach kids not to be greedy wor....lateR toothache then or-bi-good (well, if u have a deprived childhood, singaporean style, heehee, it means serve u right). btw, those more destructive ones would come and attempt to bring down my down the booth..... u see, there's this bar infront of the booth, which i think is to prevent heavy duty trolley from damaging the booth, then these kids came and probably mistook it as monkey bar or something lah, sit on it, and a few times, the booth nearly went falling onto them......i'm starting to get nightmares of it happening and me having to bear the liabilities when its all irresponsible parents' fault....


Oh yah, those ppl who only wanna eat, or dun wanna buy cos they prob dun like the taste or can;t part with their $$, will give this one standard reply: erm.......u tell me where it is lor.... i go walk ard, erm later, later i come back again/later i go there and take.


Yesh ma'am, i got the hint. well, BH 331 (managing ppl across culture) has taught me that the asian society is a high context society where a yes dun normally mean yes. the truth is normally hidden behind what is being said. ok, fine.


4. You come and sank ur teeth on some nougats and gummies..... and u say the most idiotic thing: oh its sweet~


Miss P: Ma'am, its nougat and gummies leh, not char kway teow and chicken rice.....of course sweet lah....unless u unbeknownly thought that u're eating a piece of salted fish....then i dun blame u lah... plus we're not living in a place like Japan, where u get all those wierd flavours like squid ink, fermented beans, soya sauce for things like ice cream.....so, it shouldn't come to u as a surprise that the candies are - Sweet.


5. Ang Mohs.... from my vast experience, this group of ppl are the ones who will reject any Ps offer to sample food. and the few who tries do that for the sake of trying, with absolutely no intention to buy AT ALL. trust me. The almond roca auntie agrees with me oso. so far, i have only seen 1 case of an angmoh buying stuff from me.



Miss P has yet to mention another group of ppl. Those ppl prob wear some kinda lens that makes everything invisible, 'cept for those things they wanna buy. Fuck. Miss P can see herself in the mirror, so she dun quite think she's invisble. these ppl simply bo chap miss p as she politely ask them to sample the food. RUDE. RUDE. RUDE! do they treat Ps as shit? i dunno..... maybe the corner of their eyes is partially blind, that's why they dun see Ps, and coupled with malfunctioning ears? Rude people!


Miss P can probably go on and on and on.....but....she's sianz liao. She hope people can change their attitudes towards promoters,

u see, u think they feel great having to work on beautiful weekends? Nope. They feel on top of the world when ppl rudely ignore them when she's trying hard to carry out her job? Nope.

Many are probably trying real hard to hold back their urge to give rudies two tight slaps and a heavy punch in their stomach (at least miss p did).....

pls lah, u can play a role in making their day much better. Well, i know u're not oblidged to, but all u have to do is a simple "No thank you" voila. is it that tough? huh, did u say yes? i reckon u're a dumb. Oh u really are a dumb...... oops, i'm sorry.

ok, pls, next time u see a P, smile to him or her k. She'll find ya the largest piece of sausage or sotong ball for ya. It'll make ur day too!

Went back to blk 72 for a steamboat dinner - a prelude to cny? ok whatever, great time.... food....ermmm... ok lah..... after steamboat, we lo-hei(ed) ....yummy yum yum, i'm a big big fan of yu sheng, its probably my fave food during cny.......bunked in kah shing's sis; room -- that is my old room! heehee.... well, even so, the room dun look quite familiarto me liao, despite me having stayed there for the past 1.5 yrs..... u see, the decor is somewhat different, with my (ex) desk shifted, lesser barang barang, cds, photos, poster on the wall.....plus...much cleaner! hmmmm....the room seems well-taken care of...... but haiz....... the feeling is juz not there anymore.....


then at midnite, went over to gi's new room..... she was in di's room, which is right beside hers.....GUESS WHAT THEY WERE DOING?! chatting on irc, cheating desperados.... armed with a sexy babelicious nick (lacyjessi), their mission was to lure sex-hungry men and fool'em.....heehee...... they've been inspired by this post in someone's blog and apparently this someone is a guy who kinda tried and tested the different response one receives by using two diff nick, first, a guy's name or something like that, then "rachel" i think...... so obviously this guy's nick dun get any person to chat except for an assh*le, then he changed his nick to rachel, then guess what? its da assh*le again, not knowing this rachel is da same person he had juz tokked to.......


by the time i went to di's room, the 2 had already been chatting with some ppl...... with a sexy nick, msgs from guys juz came flooding their irc window....most are guys, oh shall i repeat, sex hungry, lustful guys and a lesbian. they asked for photos, "open chat", sex, even SM blah blah blah....... u gotta see how we fooled these dumbass..... from feigning


a) tender young innocent 16 yr old (haha, when asked if SHE's a virgin, our reply were: i dunno, but last yr during sch camp, a boy slept beside me, so dunno if i'm still considered one....)

SHE asked if he had a car so they could have some backseat fun but he only has a bike, but said he could drive his father's merc (if ur dad so rich, i suppose u can afford to go geylang for fun what, why go for free ONS? cheapskate.) so this ger had to consider first what, and while doing so, desperado kept urging Quick, how? no time liao...... haha, i guess he was scared that minus away his travel time and so on, he wouldn't have enuff time to romp with HER....haha.... in the end, thinking its immoral to fake a venue and make him go there and wait for nothing, we decided that SHE is not interested in him and SHE dun like motor and prefers BM......hahaha....

This TALL and TANNED,WELL-BUILT Guy (TTWBG) was looking for a serious gf who SHOULD also be tanned and healthy-looking, u know, those sport-loving kind. So we decided that SHE is what he wants. A tanned shotput thrower. (u know shotput throwers are often bigger in built). And to add on, SHE is abt to take part in the national weight-lifting competition. TTWBG must be thinking "fuck, i meant tanned, healthy-looking, SLENDER GIRLS (THSG). weightlifters and shotputters not included" and he fleet.

L' Oreal Brandstorm & Nice Pix!

so.....din get into the finals.... but.....i've got loads of freebies! together with da goodies bags given plus the hamper, i've got like 7 btls/tubes of diff gels, 4 big btls of shampoo and conditioner...... woooo....... that's like 1 yr plus supply of gels for my hair! and gels for diff hairstyle and occasions...



haha...... plus.... the tea reception (or shud i say meal recep?) was fabulous...... nice food like mee siam, sweet and sour fish, ham and prawn salad, fried calamari, fried prawn, bbq german sausage.....yum yum..... got our journey worth heeheee...... btw huiling and karen's group got into the finals, hope they can do ntu proud and be the national or even international winners in the third consecutive yr.....

feel kinda worn out now....tired, but cannot slp, haven finish my fyp part and there's hr quiz tml...... haven study!!!

OMG with a closer look at e pix, i think i have lipstick stain on my front teeth.....i think so lah.... shucks so paiseh! but i have to commend myself for the clever poses and positioning that managed to hide ugly fat arms and bulging waist.... hahaha..... constant practising in photo posing with the blk 72 bims helped me gain a wide array of knowledge on poses that can help give slimming effect...haha.....




mum juz came into my room and i showed her these pix.....well...... she said not bad..... then she started to yak abt me making a wrong choice by cutting my hair.... well..... indeed, think femininity got snipped away together with my tresses, but they'll grow back mah..... plus i like my current hairstyle..... "its my hair..... its now or never (now cut short or never cut short)" ok whatever..... so back to the pix....initially tot the photographer's gonna charge for the devt of the pix.... but it turn out that can get the soft copy thru hall webbie....great, as i have heard of these ppl charging exorbitant prices for these salon shots.... luckily they din....... great......i hope they have something like this every year......

Tml's the release of the L'Oreal marketing competition results....... very troublesome leh, have to go down to s'pore art museum to attend the announcement ceremony.... and they gave a damn short notice......only told us today when they needed us to be there tml...... heard from huiling that the person kinda sound compelling on all members of the groups having to be there..... well......some ppl have lessons...have presentation, u can't expect ppl to be at ur beck and call (is the phrase written this way?).... anyway, have to rush down after my gms..... not praying for anything though, in or not, its fine with me...

meanwhile, shall have some potato salad that i've made.... (this pix dun quite do my salad justice....but heck! it tastes good anyway.....)

Bizarre Shopper

Went down to Carrefour to work as a temporary promoter for the carrefour house brand products today....thanx to huimin, i finally found something to do to earn some $$ to finance my high expenditure......hoping i'll have some $$ leftover to bring over to the states in May....Think its kinda too late liao..... no time to save up..... tot i told myself last yr that i shud be saving up $ for my graduation trip........but....where's the $? where and what have i spend it on? I mean, i did put them in the bank....save them....for a while... before i hand them over to the retailers.......but to clearly point out what i;ve spend it on, i'm seriously not very sure.... tough question.... boohoo.....


Ok anyway, witnessed something "spectacular".....ermmm...ok nvm....maybe bizarre today......was in carrefour from 10am.... think at 10 plus, i saw this family (not local..... they look like Europeans, with dark features like Spanish or Italian.......) shopping....when i saw them, they (4 of them, father, mother, a boy of age 9 or 10 and a infant, carried in the arms of its mum) had already 2 trolleys filled to the brim....... and they're in the midst of filling up the third trolley....and mind ya, carrefour trolleys are those huge ones, not like the normal ntuc kind..... ok, when i saw that i was quite amazed liao, how come they bought so much things..... a closer look at what're in them, well, saw items in denomination of at least 4.... like 5 pkts of corn flour (oh, maybe they're from mexico, that's why they need so so so much of corn flour to make tacos, tortilla?), 5 large cartons of Top washing powder, 6 pkts of kleenex (each containing 5 boxes of tissue), dozens of bar soap, many boxes of colgate, 8 pkts of sanitary pads (this amt can last me more than one yr k...), 5 big btls of clorox bleach and the list goes on and on........ ok, i was bored, nothing to do, that's why i managed to see what they've got in there.... and they're juz too AA (attract attention)....... i was amazed at how the guy managed to push so many trolley while the wife is busy with the baby...... then he came to me and seeked help with his oh-so-many trolleys...... he had needed to look for help with his three trolleys so that he could continue his shopping..... ok, then he left them at a cashier..... then the family disappeared.... then i was left thinking to myself maybe he runs a boarding house with many ppl staying together, or maybe this guy jzu hates grocery shopping, that's why he's buying so much things so that he dun have to shop for the next few months...


Then the auntie promoting handsoap came to tell me that there's a customer who bought 8 trolleys of grocery (not very surprising if he takes 5 of each items)..... i was like "huh?! oh i think i know who liao...." the counter staff out of curiosity asked him abt his huge purchases, and found out that he had juz come to S'pore and needed some stuff to clean up the house blah blah blah...... OH MY GOD.... i began to wonder how big his house is....


As i tot they were long gone, i was surprised to see that they're checking out at 6 plus...... which means they've been ard for like 7 plus hours for grocery shopping???!!! the guy is still chking out some items while the woman and her son sat aside looking thru part of the receipts (trust me,they're at least 10m long) and i tot, man......would she even notice if she has been over charged or what? her receipt (part of all her receipt i meant) is so damn long, unless she has a super duper photographic memory, she wouldn't know...) . This man probably top Carrefour Top Spender list man.... i estimate the 8 trolley or definitely more of grocery muz have cost over thousand of dollars. the manager must make him an exclusive member of the hypermarket and probably offer to pick him up in limo to do his shopping. or nope.....maybe dedicate 10 personal store assistant to help him push his trolley, load the grocery into the trolleys and unload at the cashier, deliever to his house, look after his wife and kids, carry portable chairs for them to sit as and when they're tired, maybe online shopping....better, so he dun have to push trolleys..........


ok lah, maybe i'm juz sua ku.....but i've never seen anything as exaggerated as that.... so i tot i ought to blog abt it...... its juz BIZARRE to me...... cos if i were to have all those stuff to myself, it'll probably take my many many months to finish....

Btw something kinda spurred me to revise my french............. not that i saw a cute french guy or what........ anyway, at carrefour, there was this cute l'il girl who came to me and innocently asked for a gummy...... she's so cute.... her name's jade (cool name...) and her mum is thai and her dad is french (what an exotic mix huh....).....then later her mum came and she spoke very fluent french to the girl ("qu' est ce que tu fais?", "bon ou pas bon?", "tu veux ca?)...... with my bits of knowledge on that language, kinda made out what they're conversing...... oh man..... their fluent french inspired me to improve on the language which i've not spoken for like a year (except for once, tried to converse with xinyi in french over msn.....darn..... it was bad....)....... plus, the pdts i was promoting are from france, et il y a beaucoup du francais.... as i tried to decipher what's on them, i kinda felt frustrated of how, despite knowing what each word means, i juz couldn't form them into proper phrases or sentences........ great, i ought to make full use of my french dictionary and campus book and be like tan ai girl (hall 15 councillor), dilligently pick up a language on her/my own, speak it fluently and write it well....... that shall be the first resolution i have for the year! au revoir et merci beaucoup, ma petite amie! Tu es jolie et cute(ok, forgot what's cute liao, lazy to chk dic)!

Wow...., after weeks of hardwork, late-night meetings Estelle (my group's sophisticated team name) is finally done with her L' Oreal report and presentation! wow....a burden off my shoulders...... now's to wait for the results of the pre-case....... if we got in, it'll be great! imagine, being able to work like a brand manager even before stepping out to try the real thing....... cool! it'll be damn fun........ and even if i can't get an honours or what, at least, i have something to show in my accolade.... "National Finalist in L' Oreal Marketing Competition".......well, on the other hand, if Estelle can't get into the national finals, its ok oso! having FYP to do is hellish enuff, imagine, doing another FYP, this time, a bigger scale one...at the same time??? heehee..... not being able to get into the finals could be a blessing in disguise..... Plus, i am able to say: at least i've tried! believe lili and wywy feel the same as well.....


ok, so this place we went to was Winsland House.... the waiting room we waited in before our prez was this small room with posters of Lancome, Biotherm, L'Oreal....basically the brands under L'Oreal.... on the table were small bottles of Evian and...... a big bowl of hershey's kisses....yum yum..... but then, no time no mood to indulge in the chocs lah....we were nervous, practicing our script, and..... taking pix! heeheehee....

then this group before us came out of the prez room......man, they're dressed smartly.......all in all-white suit and they wear the studioline colors (blue red yellow) inside......heng ah....we nearly decided to wear black suit with the three colors.... but later thought its abit over the top.....so went in chemise and pants

tadah, we went into the room, there were few ppl in it, like 7? besides the two judges and the hr manager, the rest are the camera crew....yesh....CAMERA CREW! the camera is there to capture the prez for the future competitor hopefuls to view..... shit lah...... during my part i kinda got distracted by the cameraman moving around the room....fumbled a bit...... aiyah....over jiu over liao.... nvm.... was glad that the whole thing was over in just a while.....







ha.....i did her hair in this lock cock toilet at orchard emerald..... quite nice leh..... i'm a budding hairstylist.....heehee.....


after the prez we went to another lock-cock toilet (juz why can't we find newer and better ones?) and take pix...hahaha....its kinda like a ritual to take pix after a prez, esp when we're nice dressed.... but in a toilet? well, that's our STYLE.... had to excuse my self earlier for my tight heels were causing constrictions in my blood vessel that's stopping blood from flowing to my toes....... poor toes.....

oh btw i'm literally a green-eyed monster now! haha.....thanx to my new green colorblends...... i love my eyes and i love my green lenses....... having worn my grey colorblends for the past two yrs, been yearning for a change.....and its gonna be green! i've tried the green ones more than 2 yrs back and i loved them, but they were monthly ones and i had these grey permanent lenses then which i wore till lately.... so when its time to get new pairs, green is the first in mind....... and i oso got pure hazel.....kinda like yellowish brown..... gonna try them soon!

Same Old Brand New Me?



that's my new hairstyle! short and refreshing and i'm lovin' it...... abit spunky? gotta use wax to style it b4 i go out..... but damn... the wax dun quite provide a strong hold ..... my hair falls flat soon after styling (but still wun use gels for hold.....they make my hair feel like sticks of plastic....and not to mention most leave residue)......... using L'Oreal now, maybe try out Lucido L next time.....

And huh....i do know abt my hairstyling products huh....... thanx to L'Oreal Brandstorm...... this yr's topic is on hairstyling products, so went to read up on them, ask frenz abt them (oh, gotta thanx andre & ahmad for my l'il interviews). We've finally submitted our report today, and man, was i so relieved. Having spent the past few wks working on it, stressing out over some details, the burden's finally gone....temporarily...... the prez is on this coming mon...lemme count... only 5 days left? oops.....powerpoint slides not done, dresscode not decided, no ideas for style of prez and rehearse? we're bent to deliver our prez with a punch (and i hope we can) and then get it over and done with, then wait for the results.....

Slept over in lili's rm yest after late nite finalisation of the report, had to wake up early at 7 plus to go for HR's managing human across culture...... greAt choice...... seminar was fun.....lotsa interaction, not boring, tutor is nice oso...... no regrets! Could be due to the relieve of unloading one tough assignment, was so relaxed but tired that i dozed off on 179 (always find it real hard to slp in buses than on train....) and plonked onto my cozy bed once reaching home......




Btw this is lili's cute tiny l'il mini tee....... its blardy small (at least to the gigantic me, and compared to my size 40/m blk tee.......think if there's a size for it, it shud be size 20..... or XXXS...imagine, she's so skinny liao, and this shirt is tight fitting on her...... so it muz be damn small.....

New Hair Style!

hey! i've juz gotten myself a new image! heehee...... went to cut my waist-long tresses yesterday..... and this is the new me! hmmm.....how? feel that i've lost a tinge of femininity w/o the long hair..... but dun think i look tomboy either.... heng ah, went to a good hairstylist..... took me a long time to decide what i should do with my hair..... its dry and damaged from all the chemical treatments i've had..... should i get an oh-so-feminine ceramic perm or juz snip it off? ok, finally decided that being my lazy self, would not want to take the trouble to style and care for it, so ceramic perm is out of the qn......thus the decision for the haircut.....

surprised when when i met up lili and wywy, and my ex-blkmates..... hahaha....got more compliments (or maybe they're juz paiseh to tell me straight in the face that it sux...... but, i shall give myself the benefit of doubt...heeheehee....). one more plus: i get to try using hairstyling wax.... which then allows me to understand better its usage and characteristics.... which might juz help in my project..... shall shock my siss and parents when they're back later....

Its A nEw YeAR

It’s a new year….happy new year…(ok, hope its not too late to be saying this…..) One word is enough to describe my life now – BUSY! Oh, or maybe two, DAMN BUSY! Busy with sch work, my final year project, the L Oreal competition, plus things like moving out of hall (yesh, the packing, clearing etc…), and as if I am not busy enuff, my dad decided to paint the house before the Chinese new yr…….. thus those bags and boxes of stuff I have brought back from hall cannot really be unpacked until my room is done….. looking forward to the makeover of my room, fresh new coat of paint of a soft pink shade, new curtain, plus new arrangement of the room, to make it more spacious…. and cosier, and more….like my own…. Heehee….. its gonna NICE…… and did I mention that my eldest sis who shares the room with me has kinda gotten used to slping with my 2nd sis and bro in their room (since I was often in hall), that she is more or less becoming a permanent fixture there? Heehee….. this means I’m now having the room to myself….. *giggles* moving back isn’t bad after all!

Of course the bad side of staying at home is the traveling part…. Damn…. I have to wake up at 6 plus now for my 830am lessons (shucks I hate 830am lessons, but no choice, they are the only timing available for my core….) and though I have yet to experience that long scary queues for 179 (that’s what I heard abt the notoriously long Q for the buses) in the rush hour, I’m already praying for the luck of not having to experience one…. at all. And today, I finally understand why ppl kept telling me to stay in hall for the sake of fyp…. See, my itinery for the day:

woke up at 7, 4 hr seminar from 830-1230 (GMS is so damn boring, and I’m the class “monitress” heehee, secured an instant 5 marks added to my acc, that’s like half a grade up my final overall……) meet sz and des for lunch and then did our fyp. Fyp discussion ended at 6. went to meet up with lili and wywy for LOreal immed after fyp, discussion till 930pm….. by the time I was doing the LOreal thingy, I was deadbeat and had to beg for a little time to catch forty winks…… and its not the end of my day yet…. There is still a 1 hr 15 mins of journey back home….. if I am still staying in hall, it would only take me less than 5 mins to get fr lili room to my own room…. But nope, I wun change my mind abt moving out for good, I dun see why my friends in similar situations and yet I cannot, its juz sheer laziness that is making everything difficult….. then again, its horrendous to even think that most of my days in ntu would be spent in similar fashion….. sad case!!!

I told myself I have to write this……

Had a fun time at burpies place on the new year eve until breakfast, when I became very pissed with some one…… XXX, i believe you would be reading this, so I’m telling you here that, yes, u are damn right, I was pissed off! No thanx for ur contribution to my pissfulness(if there is such word, and no, I am punning k). I thought I should treat myself better by letting you know that I was angry with what u have said. When a joke is being made the first time, its funny, 2nd time, ok, well, so-so, but anything more than that, it becomes stale, distasteful and irritating. Frenz I have will know that i am the kind who can take jokes and dun mind me being the one getting suanned and joked at, and will play along, but do remember to always observe the limit. Last straw, thats it. Glad you noticed that I was angry and I am glad I’ve shown it. dun worry, the next time I see u, I would still say hi, joke and laugh with you, but dun ever do that again, it does not reflect very nicely on one’s character. I will forgive but dun think I’ll forget, hope u wun either. Lastly, juz to let u know, I am not hurt, I am juz pissed…

Busy!!!

Seems like everyone is competing to be more busy than one another......

Been too busy to blog recently ever since sch starts. Plus, moved out of hall, so no more super hi-speed cable for moi..... frowned upon the idea of using that good'ol dial up at home...... but nvm.... da broadband's coming au jourd'hui...yeah!!! and juz realised i've told dawn that we should come out this wk, the last wk of her holis......but nope..... i'm afraid i can't...... too much things have been tying me down...... fyp, L'Oreal thingy (these two have taken up the bulk of my time..... and i'm now typing in wywy's room having bunked over in her room after yest discussion that ended at 3am.....), and the painting of my room etc...etcc.......... only got some time to write something so early at this hr cos i skipped today's seminar..... sianz...

No mood to do anything liao, ciao!

New Year's Eve

today's new year's eve..... are u gonna celebrate it? its my mum's bdae today, i've ordered a cake from getel, the confectionery which i got my 21st bdae cake from..... ok, on my bdae, the cake wasn't quite enough for all my guests and my family members were all busy, so no one gotta try the cake... not even myself and i heard comments that the cake is nice..... thus my sis and i had been thinking of getting a similar one for our next bdae celebration, which happens to be my mum's! was thinking of using my mum's i/c to go shopping and grab some b-dae discounts....hahaha...like giordano, kimage....hehehe..... sounds jian right, but, i dun care what ppl think! c' est moi! hope i do wake up early enough so i have enuff time to get back home to get the i/c and continue with my day's activities.......

hmmm..... later at nite, will be going to burpies' place to wreck havoc hahaha...... u probably can't quite imagine the level of noise the astro gals make..... a foreseeable disaster!!! burps, u should juz inform ur neighbours of our arrival.....to better prepare them for a night of hell..... haha... guess i do prefer this kinda countdown celebration to partying all nite outside...... games of bridge, asshole daidi, maybe mahjong and da di-di-di finger game and lotsa snacks.... that's all we need!

Juz being able to comfortably surf the net and read this entry probably mean that you are lucky enuff to be alive and be able to enjoy a life that is way luxurious as compared to that of the poor ppl there..... who have juz lost their families and shelters....

X'mas Specials Part II



On Boxing Day, had a council gathering with my dear AJ 17th SC held at JP's place (our usual gathering venue.....thanx to the hospitable JP and family....) Haven met some of them for like two yrs, after missing out last yr's gathering at boon's place.... ermz, not much change, except everyone become prettier and more handsome liao, the gals more feminine as well....haha.... ahmad (as usual) went late, ok, well, i was late as well, so coincidentally met xiaojia and him at the YCK interchange and went there tog....

everything thing was familiar to us, from the "amoy quee camp" sign and the coffeeshop along the road.... ok, so by the time we reach the place, they've already started eating...... wow..... its a sumptious feast consisting of yummilicious pasta, baked potato, crispy tortilla and taco with interesting fillings (wonder if the the recipe was brought back by weirong who had juz returned from her exchange in mexico)... think most of them is prep by jp's maid...... anyway, they're all delicious! mMMMMmmMmMmm.........




after dinner, we read the book of memories.... the book was a compilation of memoirs kind of thing that each 17th sc councillor had written.... it was actually for the incoming 18th office, a collection of sweet memories that we had during our term..... so i think engteck went to get it back and did a little revamp to it...... we gathered and look thru all those pages of writings and pix, laughing and reminiscise the happy days...... and we came to this entry by our infamous aj (c)rapper, marc wendroth, or mao mao (u gotta look at his kar moh....)





So this joker stuck an envelope to his entry, and stated that it should only be opened by the 25th SC in the future..... but apparently no one heeded his instructions, thus the multiple sticky tape marks haha...... ok lah, everyone is kaypoh, curious in the content of the envelope... so this is what's in it........

Diaoz...z...z...z..... anti climax... i believe everyone is like expecting something bombastic or something really sweet, but its MARC..... its so him.... i remember there was one time he stuck his kar moh on a piece of paper and gave it to someone...... OMG!!!!! ok, face it, that's him....




and i received a canon digital ixus from engteck! cool..... ok, shall stop lying liao.... ITS NOT A CAMERA actually, a real one would have cost 500 plus??.......anyway ITS A FOLDED POSTCARD...... but man, this is one cutest postcard i've seen.... multifunctional..... can be use as masak masak for kids (hehe, we actually played with it, getting ppl to pose, and oh, there's this model on the LCD at the back of the camera, and so anyone whom i use this camera to take pic with will look as chio as her..... ), for ornamental purposes, as a really interesting inexpensive xmas gift..... heehee.....how thoughtful ET......




after dessert, which was fruitcake made by a friend of JP's mum, plus ice-cream with hut choc sauce......plus a nice cup of cinnamon tea, it was gift exchange time.... everyone present were to bring a gift for the exchange.... ok, so we drew lots.... and the lucky (or not?) person who got my soft piggy container was weirong, while i got mine from xiaojia......




my xmas pressie from xiaojia! ok, something coincidental happened when i was going to the house with xj, she got her present last min, so she din wrap them. feeling its inappropriate, she borrowed my taka paper bag (since my pressie was wrapped liao, i din need the bag, ok, so let her have it), and in the end, i got her present and i got back my paper bag.... yum yum, its kitkat and winnie the pooh biscuit.....




me and jp, the host. this guy is da one who used to do cartwheels along the study area in aj..... the kind him always generously allow us to hold gatherings, parties at his place...... think we're quite used to going to his place, really find it cozy and warm... guess its cos lotsa happy moments took place there...... and i have to say that he is really hospitable, a damn good host..... and his parents are really great as well.... his dad twice booked a suite at laguna national for the council peeps to stay over after a christmas dinner and the other, a new year gala dinner org by the country club.... and oh, i've never seen him get angry before.....has really good temper...hmmm too bad, gals out there, he's attached liao, no chance.....hahaha.....



and we had a great cozy l'il xmas......
